ABU Add/Drop period 2026: dates, portal update, and what students should do

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has reminded students about the official Add/Drop window for February 2026. The timeline is fixed; students who need changes must act within the stated days.

Add/Drop dates (February 2026)

The Add/Drop period runs from Monday, 9 February 2026 to Saturday, 21 February 2026.

Portal opening: what it means

ABU will open the course registration portal within the Add/Drop period. Students concerned should use that window to make changes while the system is Available; once the time passes, access stops.

What students can do during Add/Drop

Within the stated dates, affected students should use the portal to:

• amend course registration details
• make corrections to selected courses
• complete payment where required

Small errors can linger for weeks; this window is the approved time to fix them.

Note for NELFUND applicants

Students who applied for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) have also been reminded to go ahead and make payment to meet the deadline. ABU stated that such students will be refunded when the University receives the NELFUND disbursement.

After the deadline: portal closure

ABU stated that the portal will close once the period elapses and will remain closed.
