The Federal University Dutse (FUD), through its Students’ Affairs Division, has opened applications for the 2025/2026 Students’ Benevolent Scholarship Scheme.

A circular from the Office of the Vice Chancellor dated 16 February 2026 invited applications from indigent students facing financial difficulty; the focus is on students who need support to stay enrolled.

Who Can Apply

The scheme targets vulnerable students who are unable to pay their registration fees. FUD will decide successful applicants after a thorough screening by the university’s Benevolent Committee; the Committee will handle the assessment.

What Applicants Must Submit

A statement signed by the Students Relation Officer, Sani Sabo Idris, directed interested students to obtain, fill, and submit the attached Application Form. Each applicant must also submit a stamped previous semester result; that stamped result is part of the submission requirement.

Submission Deadline

The deadline for submission is Monday, 23 February 2026. Students are expected to submit on or before the date; late submissions fall outside the stated window.

Who Is Not Eligible

The circular stated that the scheme does not cover:

  • Students who have already paid their registration fees
  • Students with a verified or disbursed status from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)
