Katsina State Sets Second Term Resumption Dates for 2025/2026

The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released an official notice on the resumption of the second term for the 2025/2026 academic session. The message is directed at parents, guardians, school heads, and students, with focus on boarding secondary schools across the state.

Boarding Students Resumption Date

All students in boarding secondary schools are expected back in school on Sunday, 28 December 2025. This covers every boarding school under the state, including Unity Secondary School, Malumfashi, and students on exchange programmes in Jibia. Boarding students are advised to return on time so school activities can run smoothly.

Day Students Resumption Date

Day students will resume later. Their resumption date is fixed for 11 January 2026. Parents should plan ahead so students return without delay.

First Term Examinations

The Ministry also confirmed that first term examinations will begin on Monday, 29 December 2025. This applies to all boarding secondary schools. Students are expected to be ready, as exams will start as scheduled.

WASSCE 2026 Offline Registration

Senior Secondary School Three students must take part in offline registration for WASSCE 2026. Registration will run from 28 to 31 December 2025. Any student who misses this window risks repeating the academic year, so schools and parents should take this serious.

Parents, guardians, and school managers have been asked to observe these dates closely. Early preparation will help students settle back faster, even though the calendar looks tight.
