KIU Adjusted Academic Calendar 2025/2026

The management of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Maiduguri, formerly known as Borno State University (BOSU), has announced an adjustment to the calendar of key events for the 2025/2026 academic session.

A memo signed by Mrs. Aishatu Ali Chiroma, Acting Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Registrar, sets out the revised dates; staff and students are expected to follow the new schedule.

Break dates in the revised calendar

The revised calendar includes a break scheduled for:

• Friday, 6 March 2026 to Sunday, 22 March 2026

First Semester examination dates

Under the updated plan, First Semester examinations will:

• Start: Monday, 23 March 2026
• End: Friday, 17 April 2026

The memo places the exams immediately after the break; students should watch the dates closely.

Second Semester resumption date

KIU is scheduled to resume for the Second Semester on:

• Monday, 20 April 2026

Approval and what students should do

The Vice-Chancellor granted executive approval on behalf of the Senate.

All staff and students are expected to note the revised dates and plan their activities around the updated calendar; missing the shift could cause avoidable stress.
