NECO Gifted Exam 2026: Date, Fee, Registration

National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the 2026 National Gifted Examination for admission into JSS 1 of Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State, for gifted and talented children of Nigeria.

The examination will hold nationwide on Saturday, 23 May 2026; candidates are expected to complete registration within the stated window.

What Federal Government Academy Suleja offers

Federal Government Academy, Suleja is described as a training ground for gifted and talented children of Nigeria. Students benefit from Federal Government scholarships covering tuition fees, external examination fees, boarding, feeding, uniform, and basic textbooks.

Who can apply

Only final-year pupils of primary schools who will not be more than 11 years by December 2026 are eligible.

Registration fee

The registration fee for the 2026 National Gifted Examination is N5,940.00 per candidate.

How to register for the NECO Gifted Examination 2026

NECO stated that registration is Strictly Online and can ONLY be done via the NECO official website. Head teachers, parents, and guardians are to register candidates through the NECO Gifted Exam portal.

Steps stated in the notice:

1. Create an online account using a phone number and email address.
2. Activate the account from the email sent; that step must happen before payment.
3. Make payment into the NECO TSA using the approved options (bank transfer should be avoided).
4. Enter the candidate’s bio-data and upload a passport-size photograph.
5. Print the photocard; keep it Safe.

Registration period and closing time

Registration runs from Monday, 5 January 2026 to Saturday, 23 May 2026. The website will close by 9:00 am on Saturday, 23 May 2026; that Cut-off ends registration.
