UI Hall Accommodation Application 2025/2026: Portal Dates, Steps, and Payment Guide

University of Ibadan (UI) has opened the Accommodation Module on the UI student portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. The portal window runs from 17 to 23 February 2026 for Fresh and Final Year students seeking bed space in the undergraduate Halls of Residence (HoRs).

Only fresh and returning students who apply for accommodation on the portal will be eligible for spaces in the HoRs; other returning undergraduates (non-final year students) and postgraduate students will get access to the Accommodation Module on a later date.

Who can apply between 17 and 23 February 2026

UI is opening the module for:

  • Fresh students
  • Final Year students (returning students)

Other returning undergraduates (non-final year) and postgraduate students should wait for a later access date.

Where to apply on the UI portal

Applicants should use the UI student portal login page: UI student portal login for hall application

Steps to apply for accommodation in the HoR

Applicants should follow these steps on the portal:

  1. Log in on the UI student portal.
  2. Click the “Hall” button on the dashboard.
  3. Two main pages will show: Hall Application and Hall Allocation.
  4. Select “Hall Application”; the application form will display.
  5. Enter Next-of-Kin details, then click “Save Next-of-Kin” to move on.
  6. On the Application Page, some details will already appear.
  7. Upload a recent colour passport photograph with a white background (<= 1MB).
  8. Provide extra details on accommodation history, health challenges (if any), Jaja registration, and related items.
  9. For returning students: answer the question “Have you completed the Jaja registration?”
    • If “Yes” is selected, the portal will confirm the Jaja status from the database.
    • If the record is found, the applicant can proceed to submit the hall application.
    • If the record is not found, the applicant cannot proceed with the application.
  10. Click “Submit” to complete the application.

Fresh students will not see the Jaja registration question on the Application Page. After filling in health challenges (if any) and other required details, fresh students can proceed to submit the hall application.

A submitted form is not the same as a saved form; applicants should click “Submit” to complete the process.

After submission: where to see the decision

After successful submission, applicants should keep checking the “Hall Allocation” page (through the same Hall menu) for the Hall Warden’s verdict.

Steps to pay for accommodation and get room allocation

Once the Hall Warden accepts an application, the applicant’s status will change from Registered to Accepted.

If the status reads “Accepted”, the applicant should:

  1. Click “Fees” on the left menu bar, then click “My Fees” to view Hall Fee and Basic Hall Dues.
  2. Select “Hall Fee” first and pay.
  3. After payment:
    • Click “Fees”
    • Click “Transactions”
    • Click “View” to download or print the receipt
  4. Repeat the same process for Basic Hall Dues and Optional Hall Dues

Payment of Basic Hall Dues is compulsory. Optional Hall Dues are optional; the applicant can choose which ones to pay for.

After UI confirms payment, the applicant’s status will change to Paid, and the Hall Warden will assign the applicant to a room. The room number will then show on the Hall Allocation page.

Documents to print and what to present at the hall

Admitted applicants should print the Accommodation Slip and Hall Identity Card in colour.

On arrival at the HoR, the hall will release the room key only after the student presents the Accommodation Slip and Hall Identity Card.
