UNIABUJA Sultan Maccido Institute Form for 2025/2026 Session

The Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership and Development Studies, University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), now Yakubu Gowon University, has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for its professional and postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Institute welcomes applicants from a wide mix of fields, including Engineering, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Management, Arts, Military, Paramilitary, Agriculture, Education, Taxation, and Law; candidates can Apply from these backgrounds.

Admission requirements

Prospective candidates must meet these general requirements:

  • O’ Level: five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at WASC/NECO/GCE or equivalent; not more than two sittings
  • Degree: a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, minimum of Second Class Lower
  • PGD exception: a minimum of Lower Credit in an HND, or its equivalent, may be accepted for PGD
  • National service: NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter
  • PhD specifics: a basic degree, a professional masters, and an MSc in a relevant field

The Institute will conduct a screening exercise to assess eligibility.

Programme duration

  • Postgraduate Diploma: 9 to 24 calendar months
  • Master’s degree: 12 to 18 calendar months
  • Professional PhD: 36 to 60 calendar months
  • Certificate courses: 12 calendar months
