UNICAL portal closes 1 Feb 2026 for 2025/2026 registration

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) management has issued a final notice on the closure of the student registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. After appeals from the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and other university stakeholders, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Ekaette Enang, approved a final extension for students who have not completed registration.

This notice sets a firm deadline; the portal will not remain open after the stated time.

UNICAL states that the portal will officially close at 12:00 midnight on Sunday, 1st Feb 2026.

General examinations

UNICAL says examinations for most levels are scheduled to begin on Monday, 16 February 2026.

100 level and GSS examinations

UNICAL says the dates for GSS and 100 Level examinations will be announced later.

What students are expected to do

Complete course registration before the deadline

UNICAL advises all students who are yet to register their courses to use this final window; the notice describes it as a last extension, with no further grace period expected after the deadline.

Note the exam implication

UNICAL warns that failure to register before the Sunday midnight deadline may lead to students being unable to sit for the coming examinations. This is a direct consequence stated in the memo; students are expected to act Fast and finish the process.
