Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Bans Final-Year Sign-Out Activities After Final Exams, Warns of Disciplinary Action
The Management of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Yaba, Lagos, has announced a ban on all sign-out activities often carried out by final-year students after the conclusion of their final examination papers.
A statement issued by the Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations warns all final-year students to desist from the activity. The Management states that any student or group of students that violates the directive will be referred to the College Disciplinary Panel for appropriate sanctions; the warning is clear, and it comes with Consequences.
What the ban covers
The ban applies to all sign-out activities usually done by final-year students after their final examination papers. YABATECH says students should not organise, support, or take part in any sign-out exercise once exams end.
Disciplinary action for offenders
YABATECH states that students found violating the ban, whether individually or as a group, will be referred to the College Disciplinary Panel. The panel will handle appropriate sanctions, as stated in the notice.
Role of Deans and Heads of Departments
The Management has directed Deans of Schools and Heads of Departments to ensure total compliance. They are also to sensitise final-year students on the outcome of non-compliance; the college expects departments to pass the message clearly and keep their students in line.
When the directive starts
The circular takes immediate effect. All concerned students are expected to comply strictly with the directive, from now onward.
