EDITING OF REGISTERED COURSES FOR 2ND SEMESTER 2014/2015 SESSION ENDS,AUGUST 30

The editing of courses for the second semester by registered students of the University of Lagos 2014/2015 session has commenced. This exercise will end on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

All registered students are ADVISED to take advantage of this opportunity to either add or delete courses, as appropriate.

UNILAG HOSTS 38th AGM & SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF NSM, SEPTEMBER 1- 5

The University of Lagos will host the 38th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM) scheduled for September 1 – 5, 2015.

The Conference which is slated for the Multipurpose Hall, UNILAG has the theme: “The Role of Microbiology in National Economic Transformation” and the following sub-themes:
* Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases  * Microbes as sources of novel drugs
* Microbes in biotechnology

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has announced an endowment fund to support commonwealth scholarships for international students in low and middle income countries.

The funds are available to support the award of nine (two Doctorate and Seven Masters Degree) scholarships study in South Africa.

CASSON CONFERS FELLOWSHIP AWARD ON PROFESSOR OSARENREN

The Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) has conferred a Fellowship Award on the Head of the Department of Educational Foundation, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Professor (Mrs.) Ngozi Azuka Osarenren.

The Fellowship was conferred on Professor Osarenren during the the 40th International Conference of CASSON, held from August 17 to 21, 2015 in the Federal Capital Territory.

Professor Ngozi Azuka Osarenren, who hails from Arochukwu in Abia State, began her academic career in the University of Lagos as Lecturer II on November 9, 1992 and steadily rose through the ranks. The University of Calabar alumna was appointed Lecturer I on October 1, 1995; Senior Lecturer in January 1998; Associate Professor in October 2002 and became Professor on October 1, 2009.

Based on her hard work, tenacity and efficiency, the Professor of Counselling has held several appointments within and outside the University. She served as Honourable Commissioner for Education in Edo State from January, 2009 to February, 2011.

Professor Osarenren who has published extensively in local and international learned journals, is happily married to Barrister Osayaba Osarenren from Benin Kingdom. The marriage is blessed with children.
