The School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos (UNILAG), has issued a firm warning about an impersonator presenting himself as a university staff member. The individual, who goes by the name “Dr. Taiwo (UNILAG)” and operates via +234 902 659 1695, falsely claims he can secure or influence admission into postgraduate programmes.
UNILAG made it clear that this claim is entirely false. The suspect has no affiliation whatsoever with the School of Postgraduate Studies or any department within the university. His information has already been forwarded to security agencies for further action.
The university is advising prospective applicants, current students, and the general public to avoid any dealings with this individual or anyone offering shortcuts to admission. UNILAG stressed that postgraduate admissions follow a strict, transparent, and merit-based process, and no external party can alter decisions.
For verified information on postgraduate programmes, application procedures, and other enquiries, the School urges everyone to use only official channels:
Website: spgs.unilag.edu.ng
Email: admissionspgs@unilag.edu.ng
Phone: 08090931788
WhatsApp (enquiries): 08090931800
UNILAG reminded applicants that relying on the approved communication channels is the best way to stay safe, informed, and protected from fraud.
