About the Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship

The Kponee-Shovein Foundation has announced the opening of its 2026 scholarship program, designed to support undergraduate students from Rivers State. This initiative aims to foster the development of future leaders by providing financial assistance to those pursuing their first bachelor's degree at accredited Nigerian universities.

Scholarship Details

This one-year award covers the full tuition fees for the academic session, with the foundation's Chief Operating Officer disbursing the funds directly to the scholar's university. Additionally, recipients will receive a stipend to help with living expenses and other academic needs. It's worth noting that this award is exclusively for undergraduate studies, and postgraduate applicants are not eligible for this cycle.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• State of Origin: Must be an indigene of Rivers State.
• Level of Study: Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.
• Year of Study: Open to applicants in all years (100L to 400L/500L).
• Field of Study: Open to all subject areas.
• Institution: Must be enrolled in any accredited university in Nigeria.

Selection Criteria

The foundation employs a comprehensive review process to identify the most deserving candidates. The selection is based on:

• Financial Need: Priority is given to candidates who demonstrate a clear need for financial assistance to continue their education.
• Academic Ability: Evaluated through standardized test scores (JAMB for 100L students), transcripts, and recommendations.
• Leadership & Commitment: Candidates should exhibit strong leadership qualities and a clear vision for contributing to the development of Rivers State, Nigeria, and the African continent.

Application Deadline

All application materials must be submitted by September 15, 2026. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified candidates must complete the official Kponee-Shovein Scholars Application Form. Along with the completed form, applicants must submit the following documents to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com:

• Essay 1 (Max 1000 words): Describe your motivations for pursuing your field of study, your reasons for applying for this scholarship, and your career plans upon graduating.
• Essay 2 (Max 1000 words): Tell us about your experiences as a Rivers State indigene and how your life experiences have shaped who you are today.
• Official Scanned Transcripts:

· 100L applicants: JAMB score and admission letter. · Continuing undergraduates: Official university transcripts.

• Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Two Professional Letters of Recommendation: These must be from lecturers, professors, or Heads of Departments. Note: Referees must send their letters directly to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com on your behalf.
