Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene, has reaffirmed its stance on prohibiting graduating students from engaging in sign-out fanfare.

The institution made this known through a circular issued on August 14, 2026, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Godswill E. Udofah, MNIM.

According to the circular, the initial ban was introduced via a management circular dated September 15, 2025. This decision came after several incidents disrupted the campus peace and following complaints from various organizations regarding the misuse of their professional attire.

Despite the existing ban, such activities have persisted within the institution, prompting management to remind graduating students that the ban remains in effect. Engaging in sign-out fanfare is considered a violation of the institution's rules and regulations.

Management has warned that any student found contravening the directive will face severe disciplinary action, including the possible withdrawal of their studentship.

The institution has described the circular as a final warning, directing all students and student organizations to strictly comply with the directive.
