The administration of Akwa Ibom State University has been alerted to the actions of certain dishonest persons who are trying to cheat members of the public by pretending to provide university admission.
To clarify, the university has not engaged any agent, consultant, representative or intermediary to process or grant admission to prospective candidates.
The public is therefore urged to remain alert and watch out for scammers who present themselves—especially on Facebook and other social media sites—asserting that they can secure university admission for a fee or other benefits.
The university emphasizes that every admission procedure is carried out solely via its officially sanctioned channels. Applicants should depend exclusively on information disseminated through the university’s official communications and should not remit money to anyone claiming to represent the institution without proper authorization.
The public is hereby cautioned against engaging with these fraudsters and urged to exercise utmost caution when approached by anyone requesting money or personal data for university admission.
The university will not be held liable for any financial loss or other repercussions resulting from transactions with unauthorized individuals.
All citizens are encouraged to regard this advisory seriously and assist in curbing the actions of these deceitful actors.
