The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has announced that it will be postponing the registration exercise for its newly admitted students, also known as freshmen, for the 2025/2026 academic session by one week. This decision was made public through an internal memo that was issued on Monday.
The memo, which was signed by Mrs. Chidinma E. Ambrose-Theanacho, the Principal Assistant Registrar (Central Registry), on behalf of the University Registrar, cited the need to conclude some pending logistical and administrative issues as the reason for the postponement. According to the memo, which was addressed to all Faculty Officers, the shift in the registration exercise was based on directives from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
Although the memo did not specify the new date for the commencement of the registration exercise, it assured that a further date will be communicated in due course. The university has apologized for any inconvenience this postponement might cause to the students and their parents.
This development means that prospective students who were preparing to start their registration process will now have to wait for an official update from the university authorities regarding the revised schedule. To stay informed, prospective students are advised to monitor the university's official website and student portal for updates.
Additionally, students can contact their respective Faculty Offices for faculty-specific guidance once the new date is announced. It's worth noting that the memo was issued under reference number UN/RC.98/S.2. By following these steps, students can ensure they have the most up-to-date information regarding the registration exercise.
