The Ahmadu Bello University Student Representative Council has released an update following a meeting with the University Management to discuss the status of the Add-and-Drop Portal. The council outlined key resolutions to guide students during this period.
The University Management confirmed that the Add-and-Drop Portal will not be reopened. Instead, students are advised to use alternative administrative channels for any necessary course adjustments.
For students with valid reasons for adding or dropping courses, a manual procedure must be followed. This involves submitting a formal request through the respective Head of Department, which will then undergo a thorough review at the departmental level. The HODs will provide recommendations to the Management based on the merits of each case.
Special provisions have been made for students who could not complete registration due to delays in NELFUND support. Affected students should submit their details to their Faculty SRC Chairpersons, who will provide further guidance and interventions through faculty-specific channels.
All affected students must comply with these instructions and complete their submissions by 4:00 PM, Monday, 27th April, 2026. The SRC emphasizes the importance of prompt action to facilitate timely consideration of all cases.
The update was signed by Abdulganiyu Ganiyat Morenikeji, Assistant Secretary-General I, ABU Student Representative Council.
