The Plateau State University has announced the lifting of the ban on electioneering campaigns for the 2026/2027 academic session. This decision follows the successful screening and confirmation of the Electoral Commission by the Parliament.
Aspirants are now allowed to commence their campaign activities, which must adhere to the constitutional provisions. It is essential for all Electoral Committee Members to maintain absolute neutrality throughout their tenure, as they are prohibited from voting or being voted for in these Union elections.
The university urges all aspirants to conduct their campaigns with civility, focusing on issue-based manifestos that promote the progress of the student body. Any breach of the Students' Union Constitution or the Code of Conduct during this period will result in immediate disqualification.
The university wishes all aspirants the best of luck in their campaigns.
