The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), through its Institute of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education, has commenced applications for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The PGDE programme is designed for graduates without teaching qualifications and serves as a prerequisite for registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). It also prepares candidates for the TRCN Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQEs).

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are eligible to apply: Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor’s Degree (BA/B.Sc.), Master’s Degree (MA/M.Sc./MPA/MBA), and PhD.

The PGDE programme runs for two semesters only. The programme is aimed at prospective teachers at all levels of education, including early childhood, primary, secondary, and tertiary education. It is also targeted at bridging the gap in the supply of qualified science teachers through professional training for prospective STEM educators.

OAUSTECH serves as a registration centre for the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQEs). The examination registration fees are as follows: NCE – ₦7,500, HND/BA/B.Ed./B.Sc. – ₦9,500, MA/M.Ed./M.Sc./MPA/MBA – ₦11,500, and Ph.D./DBA – ₦13,500.
