The School of Preliminary and Continuing Education at Sule Lamido University has officially opened applications for its University Preparatory Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The University Preparatory Programme is designed to provide rigorous academic training and improve the performance of newly admitted university students. Candidates who achieve the required benchmarks at the end of the programme will be absorbed into the university as 100-level degree students.

The programme is a full-time academic program spanning one academic session, with instruction and subjects drawn from three primary disciplines: Sciences, Humanities, and Social and Management Sciences.

Applicants holding an SSCE O-level result or its equivalent can apply under two categories: Category A, with a minimum of five O-level credits in relevant science subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, and Category B, with a minimum of three O-level credits. However, candidates in Category B must remedy their deficient credits before they can be absorbed into a degree programme.

To gain full absorption into a regular 100-level degree program at SLU, admitted candidates must successfully pass the remedial program, possess five O-level credits, including Mathematics and English Language, and obtain the minimum SLU UTME points.

The programme result will remain valid for two admission sessions for candidates who successfully pass the UPP program but are unable to immediately satisfy the O-level or UTME requirements.

The application period commences on Monday, 1st June 2026, and closes on Monday, 29th June 2026. The application fee is Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only, and prospective students should visit the official SPACE application portal to complete their registration.
