The National Examinations Council (NECO) has alerted the public to be cautious of fake online portals for the recruitment of Examination Supervisors. These fake portals have been asking interested individuals to submit their academic credentials after making certain payments.
NECO wishes to inform the public that it does not require any payment from teachers applying to serve as examination supervisors in the forthcoming 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal.
As part of the recommendations of the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria, NECO has transitioned from the analogue mode of recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors to a fully electronic process. Consequently, all qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above, who are not less than 30 years of age and are interested in serving as supervisors in the 2026 SSCE Internal, can apply.
It is worth noting that the supervisor recruitment on the NECO website is fully automated, and no third-party involvement is required. This new recruitment system aims to prevent fraud in the recruitment of supervisors, prevent examination malpractice, and enhance fairness and credibility in the recruitment process.
The Council plans to recruit no fewer than 22,000 supervisors to ensure a seamless conduct of the 2026 SSCE Internal, which is scheduled to commence on 15th June, 2026.
