The University of Delta, Agbor, has reiterated its ban on Sign-Out Ceremonies. As approved by the Senate, this ban remains in full force. All students, particularly final-year students, are advised to comply strictly with the following directives:
The wearing of customized or inscribed T-shirts, making marker inscriptions on clothing, sewing and wearing uniform fabrics (Aso Ebi), and playing music within the University premises for the purpose of Sign-Out celebrations are strictly prohibited.
Any student or group of students who enters the University campus accompanied by uniformed security personnel as escorts shall have the vehicle(s) involved impounded immediately. Any security personnel found escorting students for Sign-Out celebrations during or after the examination period shall be reported to the appropriate authorities, including the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force, for necessary action.
Parents, guardians, relatives, and well-wishers are strongly advised not to visit the University campus for the purpose of celebrating with graduating students after their examinations. Any group of students found organizing, participating in, or encouraging a Sign-Out Ceremony in violation of this directive shall be subjected to appropriate disciplinary measures in accordance with the University’s regulations.
Any photographer or individual who sets up a platform, stage, or any facility intended to facilitate a Sign-Out Ceremony within the University premises shall be apprehended and handed over to the appropriate authorities. The Chief Security Officer and the University Security Team have been directed to intensify surveillance and take all necessary measures to prevent unauthorized gatherings of final-year students after the conclusion of examinations.
Note that any student or group of students found violating any of the above directives shall be referred to the Students’ Disciplinary Committee for appropriate sanctions. The University appreciates your cooperation in this matter.
