The University of Ilorin has come out to refute claims that it has suspended admission into its MBBS programme for the upcoming academic session. According to the institution, reports suggesting that no new students will be admitted into the programme for the 2026/2027 academic session are false and misleading.
A press statement released by the University Management on July 4, 2026, confirms that admission into the MBBS programme is indeed open for the 2026/2027 academic session. The statement, which was signed by the University's Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, emphasizes that the institution has already advertised for admission into the programme and that Post-UTME registration is currently ongoing.
The University is aware of concerns regarding some of its medical graduates who are yet to be inducted. It has assured these graduates that every necessary effort is being made to ensure their induction takes place as soon as possible. The University is actively engaging with the relevant regulatory authorities to facilitate this process.
