The University of Uyo's Students' Union has made an important announcement regarding the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) refunds for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to the announcement, students who received NELFUND benefits for the current academic session do not need to submit any application for a refund at this time.

The University's ICT Unit, in collaboration with the Bursary Department, is verifying the information of eligible beneficiaries directly from the NELFUND portal. This verification process will enable automatic refunds to eligible students once it is completed.

The Students' Union has urged the beneficiaries to remain calm, as the refund process is expected to be concluded within the current week or, at the latest, by next week.

Key points to note:

• The directive applies only to students who benefited from NELFUND in the 2025/2026 academic session.
• Students from previous academic sessions who are still awaiting refunds should continue with the existing refund application process.

This announcement comes at a time when there is increased attention on the delayed NELFUND refunds across several Nigerian tertiary institutions.
