Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has announced the commencement of its online Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

ELIGIBILITY TO REGISTER FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

To be eligible for the Screening Exercise, candidates must have a UTME Score of 180 and above. However, Direct Entry Candidates are only required to pay the screening fee and register.

REGISTRATION

The registration process involves visiting the ABU portal at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms or clicking on 2026/2027 UTME/DE Screening Registration on the Ahmadu Bello University website https://abu.edu.ng. A non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) is required for the screening exercise.

• Payment can be made online using a debit card (ATM card)
• Alternatively, candidates can print the transaction slip for payment in any commercial bank in the country
• It is not necessary for candidates to travel to Zaria to make the payment

Candidates are advised to check the ABU Brochure at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms/putme to ensure their subject combinations are correct. If the combinations are incorrect, candidates may change to a more suitable programme (course) on the JAMB portal.

During registration, candidates must upload scanned copies of their academic/basic documents, including:

• JAMB results
• 'O' Level results (not more than 2 sittings)
• 'A' Level certificates
• Indigene Certificates
• NIN
• Birth Certificates

UTME candidates are also required to input grades of 5 'O' Level subjects relevant to their programme of study, as provided on the Brochure. It is essential to provide accurate information, as falsification or fabrication of results will lead to disqualification. However, candidates awaiting 'O' Level results are advised to wait until the release of their results.

Failure to register for the Screening Exercise will render any UTME/DE candidate ineligible for admission into the University.
