The Melajoom Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Tertiary Scholarship Program, designed to support undergraduate students from Owo Local Government Area in pursuing higher education.

The foundation's mission is to empower communities through education, recognizing the critical role it plays in individual and community transformation. Eligibility and Award Details

The scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled in accredited Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. To be eligible, applicants must be indigenes of Owo Local Government Area and provide a valid Certificate of Local Government Origin.

• University students are eligible for up to ₦250,000
• Polytechnic and College of Education students are eligible for up to ₦125,000

Academic Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet specific academic benchmarks:

• Freshers (100-level): A minimum JAMB score of 250 is required.
• Continuing Students (200-level and above): A minimum CGPA of 3.5 is required.

Final-year students are also eligible to apply. Applicants currently receiving other scholarships or bursaries are welcome to apply but must disclose this information on the application form.

All applicants must submit a complete application package, including:

• Certificate of Local Government Origin
• Reference Letter from the Owo LGA Office (dated within the last 24 months)
• An original Academic Goals Essay

Essay Prompts:

• 100 Level applicants: Explain the rationale behind your choice of course and how you plan to use your degree to impact your community or field (200 words max).
• 200 Level and above: Reflect on your most significant academic achievement or challenge and describe how you have maintained your academic performance (300 words max).

Additional Required Documents:

• Freshers: JAMB Admission Letter and JAMB Result Slip.
• Continuing Students: Current Student ID Card, Latest Academic Transcript, and Latest Academic Result.
