University of Calabar Management has disavowed an unauthorized Distance Learning Centre in Port Harcourt.

The centre in question, Bori Business School, operates at the NUJ Press Centre, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, and falsely claims affiliation with the University of Calabar.

A circular from the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka I. Icha, reveals that Bori Business School offers various programmes, including Diploma, B.Sc., B.A., PGD, and Ph.D.

However, the University of Calabar emphasizes that it has no connection with Bori Business School and has never authorized the centre to use its name or logo.

The University discontinued its satellite campuses in 2003, following a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education via the National Universities Commission (NUC).

As a result, the University of Calabar does not have any authorized satellite campuses, coordinators, or agents operating outside its approved campuses.

The University warns the public to be cautious of individuals or groups claiming to represent the University of Calabar and emphasizes its complete dissociation from the activities of Bori Business School.

The University of Calabar has called upon the Rivers State Ministry of Education to investigate Bori Business School's activities and ensure the centre's closure for misusing the University's identity.

The public is advised to verify all information regarding admissions and academic programmes through the University's official channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities.
