Applications are now being accepted from eligible candidates who wish to enrol in postgraduate studies that lead to Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters degrees, or Doctor of Philosophy qualifications at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi for the academic session 2026/2027.

The online application portal opened at 07:00 on Monday, 10 August 2026 and will remain active until 18:00 on Friday, 27 November 2026.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• (1) Prospective students must first satisfy the O’Level criteria required for a first‑degree award from Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, including a credit in English and Mathematics for the Faculties of Sciences, Management, and Environmental Science.
• (2) Applicants targeting the Postgraduate Diploma must also hold either a Higher National Diploma or a first degree of at least Third‑Class standing from Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or any institution recognised by the university Senate.
• (3) Those applying for a Masters programme need, in addition to the O’Level requirement, a relevant first degree with a minimum of Second‑Class Lower Division (CGPA ≥ 2.50) from Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or any university approved by its Senate.
• (4) Candidates for the PhD route must, besides meeting the O’Level condition, possess a strong Master’s qualification with a CGPA of at least 3.50, earned at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University or a university acknowledged by the Senate.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

All postgraduate tracks commence with coursework and conclude with a culminating project: a project report for Postgraduate Diplomas, a dissertation for Masters, and a thesis for Doctoral candidates. The typical durations are outlined below:

• (i) Postgraduate Diploma programmes run for a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years.
• (ii) Full‑time Masters programmes normally require at least two academic years, with a ceiling of three years from the date of registration.
• (iii) Doctoral programmes generally span a minimum of three academic years for full‑time study, extending up to six years at the point of registration.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

• i) Applications are processed exclusively through the university’s online portal. Interested individuals should navigate to https://portal.bsum.edu.ng/login.jsp.
• ii) On the portal, click the designated application link.
• iii) Within the Postgraduate School section, select “Start Application,” enter your full name, choose the desired programme, and submit the initial form.
• iv) An e‑payment slip will be generated, displaying both a payment reference number and an application number.
• v) Applicants may settle the non‑refundable fee of N20,000 either via the online payment gateway or by visiting the appointed bank (Fidelity) with a printed copy of the e‑payment form.
• vi) After payment confirmation, return to the portal (https://portal.bsum.edu.ng/login.jsp), go to the Application area, click on Postgraduate, and complete the full application form. Upload all academic credentials and supporting documents, then submit electronically. It is advisable to print a hard copy of the completed form for personal records.
• vii) Ensure that the three referees complete their online reference forms as required.
• viii) Applications lacking the necessary uploaded documents will be rejected.
• ix) Applicants must request their former institutions to send official academic transcripts to: The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi. Transcripts should be accompanied by the transcript request forms available for download on the portal.

Guidelines for filling application forms

Provide every piece of information requested on the form; submissions with missing data will be considered void. Clearly indicate the intended course of study and any area of specialization. It is essential that official transcripts from previous universities are forwarded directly to the Postgraduate School; applications without these official records will not be processed. Each applicant may apply for only one degree or diploma programme at any given time.
