Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has announced a Certificate and Testimonial Verification Exercise covering the 2022 to 2026 academic sessions.

A circular signed by the Chairman of the Certificate/Testimonial Verification Committee states that verification for the 2025/2026 graduating cohort will take place from 24 August to 7 September 2026. A separate memorandum sent to committee members notes that the verification process for students from the 2022 to 2025 sessions is already in progress.

The memo instructs all finalists to report to the verification officer assigned to their programme, bringing the original documents listed below:

• UTME result
• JAMB admission letter
• WAEC/NECO/TC/NABTEB certificate or a duly signed examination broadsheet
• Diploma or NCE certificate or transcript (for Direct Entry students)
• Confirmation letter
• Certificate of local government indigeneship

Fourteen committee members have been deployed across the various faculties and departments to manage the verification. Their contact numbers are provided in the memorandum for student reference.

The university explained that the verification drive forms part of its effort to authenticate academic records before graduation and the issuance of certificates. The circular was also copied to the Vice‑Chancellor, Deputy Vice‑Chancellors, Registrar, Dean of Student Affairs and other senior officers.

Finalists are reminded to complete the verification within the prescribed period to prevent any delay in their graduation clearance.
