The University of Cross River State, also known as UNICROSS, has issued a reminder to its students who are beneficiaries of the Federal Government's NELFUND Loan Scheme. The reminder, which comes in the form of an internal circular, urges these students to complete the necessary steps for loan verification and to collect their school fee receipts.
According to the circular, which is dated January 9, 2026, and signed by the University Bursar, Mr. Wilson Anyiom, MSc, CCA, a number of students' NELFUND loan applications have been approved, and the disbursements have been made. However, it has come to the University's attention that several of these beneficiaries are either not aware that their loans have been approved or are uncertain about how to verify their loan status and obtain their school fee payment receipts.
To rectify this situation, the University is directing all concerned students to visit the ICT Unit of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT). There, they can verify their loan status and collect their official school fee receipts. The University's management has stressed that only those students who comply with the directives outlined in the circular will have their loan disbursements validated, and their names will be included on the official list of students who have paid their school fees.
Therefore, students are advised to take prompt action and comply with the University's directives. This will ensure that they can access the benefits of the NELFUND Loan Scheme without any further delays or complications.
