The Nigerian Universities Engineering Students’ Association (NUESA) at the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced plans to host an orientation program specifically designed for newly admitted engineering students. This initiative aims to ensure a smooth transition into university life for these freshers.
According to the details provided, the Freshers’ Orientation Programme is slated to take place on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at the ELF Theatre Hall, located within the Faculty of Engineering on the Permanent Site of the University of Uyo.
The primary objective of this program is to extend a warm welcome to the new students, acquaint them with the academic expectations and professional ethics of the engineering faculty, and introduce them to the activities and mission of NUESA. It also presents an invaluable opportunity for freshers to interact with the faculty leadership, fostering a sense of community and belonging from the outset.
Comrade James Anietie, the President of NUESA UNIUYO, is scheduled to address the students, joined by Engr. Prof. Orua Okon Antia, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who will deliver a key speech at the event. This orientation is a testament to NUESA UNIUYO’s commitment to guiding new students toward a successful academic journey and promoting unity among the engineering student body.
All newly admitted engineering students are strongly encouraged to attend the orientation punctually, as it promises to be an informative and engaging experience that will set the tone for their time at the University of Uyo.
