The UTME mock is a pre-examination test organized by JAMB every year for candidates taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates were asked to indicate their interest in the mock exam during UTME registration. This year's mock will be held on Saturday, 28th March, 2026.

For the records, the mock exam is not compulsory, and its score is not added to the main exam. It is not a requirement to participate in the main exam.

The main purpose of the mock examination is to enable candidates to assess their level of preparation and get familiar with the computer-based test environment. The mock examination was introduced in 2017 to give all candidates hands-on experience with the system, especially those not conversant with computers.

The mock exam also allows JAMB to test all systems in all centres to ensure they work efficiently for the main exam. It prepares the CBT centres and gives them insight into how they should handle candidates in the main exam.

The printing of the 2026 JAMB UTME mock exam slip has not begun yet. The mock exam slip will indicate the venue and time of the exam for eligible candidates.

Whether or not you are taking the mock exam, you can have the same experience with the JAMB CBT Mobile App for mobile phones or the JAMB CBT Software for computer systems. The app and software have a similar interface to the one JAMB will use in the main exam. You can set your mock questions, test yourself, and see how prepared you are for the main exam.

As the JAMB mock approaches, candidates should expect updates on the mock exam slip printing and procedures, what to look out for during the mock exam, and a section to meet online and interact.
