The 20th Convocation Ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, June 17th to Saturday, June 20th, 2026.

This announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, during the 242nd Senate meeting held on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026, at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, UNIZIK.

According to Prof. Anyaehie, the convocation ceremony will provide an opportunity for the graduands of the 2024/2025 academic session to receive their certificates. The four-day university program will also feature the award of honorary degrees and the bestowment of Emeritus Professorial titles.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor hinted at the possibility of another convocation ceremony later in the year, tentatively set for November 2026, which coincides with the birthday of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik of Africa).

Prof. Anyaehie reiterated that the welfare of students and staff remains a top priority during his five-year administration as the Chief Executive of the institution.
