Faculty of Transport

The Faculty of Transport offers the following programmes:

• Department of Maritime Economics & Finance: PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Maritime Economics & Finance
• Department of Transport and Nautical Science: PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Maritime Transport & Logistics Management, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Transport Economics, PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Maritime Safety and Security

Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering offers the following programmes:

• Department of Mechanical Engineering: PGD, M.Eng., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with specializations in Design and Production Engineering, Applied Mechanics and Tribology Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Industrial and Maintenance Engineering, Materials and Corrosion Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the postgraduate programmes, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or its equivalent from Nigeria Maritime University or any other recognized and accredited institution.
• A minimum of five (5) O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.
• Must present an NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate.
• Referee reports must be submitted directly to the Postgraduate School.

Method of Application & Required Documents

To apply, follow these steps:

• Visit the official university application portal at https://eportal.nmu.edu.ng.
• Purchase the application form online for a fee of Forty Thousand Naira (₦40,000) only.
• Complete the online application form after carefully reading the portal instructions.
• Upload scanned copies of the following documents in PDF format:
• Degree Certificate(s)
• O'Level Certificate (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB)
• NYSC Certificate, Exemption, or Exclusion Letter
• Research Proposal of 3–5 pages (for Ph.D. applicants only)

• Academic Transcripts: Candidates must ensure their official academic transcripts are forwarded directly from their previous institutions to the Postgraduate School under confidential cover.
• Screening & Selection: Names of successful candidates will be published on the university website, after which screening and fee payments will commence.
