Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB to start the sale of 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, forms in November and also ban the use of wrist watches and pens during the conduct of its 2018 test.

The board’s Registrar, Is’haq Oloyede disclosed this to journalists during an interactive session with CTB owners nationwide held at Yaba College of Technology.

According to him, the board discovered a lot of mishaps from centre owners. With new technology introduced by JAMB, Oloyede said the board would frustrate the atrocities of the fraudsters.

We have learnt some lessons from the last year’s experience and therefore introduced some measures that will further add to the integrity of the registration process and the conduct of the examination.

For example, we discovered last year and this year that some electronic devices such ass Pens, wrist watches, were used to perpetrate exam malpractices.

So, for next year, we have banned the use of wristwatches and pens by candidates and other persons in the examination hall.

"We are also going to introduce some detective devices to ensure that those who plan to cheat inside the examination halls are frustrated" he said.

Mr. Oloyede noted that registration would commence before the month runs out, urging prospective candidates to visit the board’s website, download it’s apps, syllabus and brochures.

The JAMB boss added that not less than 617 centres have been accredited nationwide for the exercise.

We are still considering about 60 more centres as we have their applications waiting for consideration.

"However, a total of 72 centres nationwide have earlier been delisted owing to their involvement in some infractions and they remain delisted."
