JAMB Advises Early Profile Creation For 2025 UTME Registration

Jan, 03Views: 2526

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged prospective candidates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to create their profiles ahead of the official registration kickoff in January 2025. This advisory is part of JAMB’s efforts to streamline the registration process and minimize delays caused by last-minute preparations.

How to Create Your Profile

Candidates are required to create their profiles by sending a text message in the following format:

NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019.

This step is critical as it enables JAMB to generate a unique profile code for each candidate. The profile code serves as the foundation for the registration process. Without it, candidates will not be able to proceed with their UTME registration.

Why Early Profile Creation is Important

JAMB emphasized that early profile creation will:

1. Prevent technical glitches and congestion on the registration portal when it officially opens.

2. Provide candidates ample time to resolve potential issues, such as errors in personal information or challenges related to their NIN.

Strict Biometric Guidelines

JAMB also reiterated its strict biometric verification guidelines, both during registration and the examination. Candidates are cautioned against the use of henna (Laali or Lale) or any substance that may interfere with fingerprint scanning. The Board explained that henna designs or the use of harsh chemicals to remove them could damage fingerprint whorls, making biometric verification difficult or impossible.

Without successful biometric verification, candidates will be denied access to the examination hall and their exam questions, regardless of their registration status.

Stay Informed

As the registration date approaches, JAMB encouraged all candidates to stay updated through official channels and avoid relying on unverified sources of information.

The Board remains committed to ensuring a seamless, transparent, and efficient registration and examination process for the 2025 UTME. Early preparation, including timely profile creation, is essential to avoid last-minute complications. Candidates are urged to follow all provided guidelines diligently to ensure an stress-free registration experience and successful participation in the examination.
