As part of his administration’s commitment to education, Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu has approved free JAMB/UTME and Direct Entry (DE) registration for underprivileged students in the state for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This initiative is aligned with the governor’s 9-point agenda, designed to assist academically qualified students who face financial difficulties by covering the costs of registration forms.

Governor's Response to Financial Burden on Families

In a statement on Friday, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu, emphasized the governor’s awareness of the financial challenges many families endure. To alleviate this burden, the governor has also approved the payment of online registration fees for all students benefiting from the initiative.

“This program aims to support indigent students in gaining admission to universities and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria,” Professor Maishanu stated.

Distribution of Free JAMB Registration PINs

The free JAMB registration PINs will be distributed at the 23 Local Government Secretariats throughout Sokoto State. Eligible students are required to visit their respective secretariats to collect and fill out the necessary registration forms. The State Ministry for Higher Education will manage the distribution process to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Eligibility and Registration Process

Students interested in participating must generate a Profile Code by sending a text message in the following format: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019.

Only candidates who meet the academic requirement of at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, will be eligible for the program.
