The Directorate of Academic Planning, Kaduna State University (KASU), has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, outlining key academic activities for both the first and second semesters.

First Semester

The first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session will commence as follows:

5th January 2026: Resumption of students

8th December 2025 – 23rd January 2026 (3 weeks): Screening and course registration for fresh and returning students

26th January – 13th March 2026 (7 weeks): Lectures for all students and Continuous Assessment (CA)

16th – 22nd March 2026 (1 week): Mid-semester break and Add/Drop exercise (online)

23rd March – 8th May 2026 (6 weeks): Continuation of lectures and CA

11th – 30th May 2026 (3 weeks): Examinations and marking

1st – 14th June 2026 (2 weeks): Processing of results

15th – 19th June 2026 (1 week): Consideration and release of results by Senate

22nd – 28th June 2026 (1 week): First semester break

29th June 2026: Commencement of second semester

Second Semester

The second semester academic activities are scheduled as follows:

29th June 2026: Resumption

29th June – 14th August 2026 (7 weeks): Lectures and Continuous Assessment

17th – 21st August 2026 (1 week): Mock accreditation, mid-semester break, and Add/Drop exercise

24th August – 9th October 2026 (6 weeks): Continuation of lectures and CA

12th – 16th October 2026 (1 week): Students’ Union elections and inauguration

19th October – 7th November 2026 (3 weeks): Examinations and marking

9th – 20th November 2026 (2 weeks): Processing of results

23rd – 25th November 2026 (3 days): Consideration and release of results by Senate

26th November – 20th December 2026 (3 weeks): Intra and inter-university transfers

21st December 2026 – 3rd January 2027 (2 weeks): End of session break

4th January 2027: Commencement of a new academic session
