Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has sent a clear reminder to candidates offered admission for the 2025/2026 academic session: accepting admission is not the finish line. Portal work must be completed.

The notice targets newly admitted candidates who have already accepted their admission but are yet to complete document upload, verification, screening, and full registration on the University portal.

Admissions Office Raises Red Flag

According to an internal update from the Admissions Office, a significant number of admitted candidates are still sitting on incomplete portal records. As at the time the reminder was issued, only 4,688 candidates had successfully uploaded their documents and completed the required processes.

Translation: EKSU is counting. And they know who has done the work.

Registration Is Not Optional

The University stressed that registration is compulsory. Candidates who fail to complete the verification, screening, and registration stages will not be issued matriculation numbers—no exceptions, no soft landing.

All required documents must be uploaded through the EKSU portal, after which candidates are to follow the remaining registration steps exactly as prescribed by the University.

Matriculation Comes With Conditions

EKSU also confirmed that the matriculation ceremony will hold soon. Only candidates who have generated valid matriculation numbers will be officially recognised as students of the University.

The consequence for delay is blunt: any candidate who fails to generate a matriculation number before the matriculation ceremony automatically loses the admission.

Yes—completely forfeited.

Portal Deadline Candidates Must Note

All affected candidates have been directed to complete document upload, verification, screening, and registration on the EKSU portal on or before Thursday, 15 January 2026.

No uploads. No registration. No matric number. No EKSU.
