As the 2026 JAMB CBT exams approach, candidates should be aware of the items not allowed in the exam hall. For the 2026 UTME, only an HB pencil and a copy of the JAMB exam slip are permitted. Candidates who bring any of the prohibited items will not be allowed to take the UTME.

The list of prohibited items includes wristwatches, pens, mobile phones, spy reading glasses, calculators, USB, CD, hard disks, books, cameras, recorders, microphones, earpieces, ink/pen readers, smart lenses, smart rings/jewelry, smart buttons, Bluetooth devices, key holders, ATM cards, erasers, bangles, rings, necklaces, and wallets/purses.

Candidates are required to examine the list and note the prohibited items during the UTME exercise. It's also essential to revise for the exam, and using the JAMB CBT Mobile App and the JAMB CBT Computer Software can be helpful. Studying at least 5 full CBT exams daily can cover 20 years of questions, giving candidates an edge.

Additionally, examination officials or authorized persons found with prohibited items in the exam hall will face sanctions for examination sabotage.

Instructions on Biometric Verification have also been provided. Biometric verification is the only mode for admitting candidates into the examination center, and strict adherence to the guide is required. Candidates who cannot be verified should be recaptured at the center before leaving, and only genuine cases will be treated.

Biometric verification will also serve as the Attendance Register during examinations, and photo albums will only carry pictures with no marking points for present or absent status. All examination officials, including security agents, must ensure compliance with the guidelines, rules, and regulations on the examination.
