The Lagos State University has commenced its 2026/2027 Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission via UTME and Direct Entry. This online screening exercise is mandatory for entry into the university.
To be eligible, candidates must have chosen Lagos State University as their first choice of institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored a minimum of 195 marks. Additionally, candidates must be at least 16 years old by October 1st, 2026.
All Pre-Degree Studies students who have completed their studies and wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University must also participate in the online admission screening exercise. Direct Entry candidates, including those from the LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies, are eligible to apply if they have obtained a Direct Entry form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and have chosen Lagos State University as their first choice of institution.
Candidates of Lagos State origin who have proven their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee will have their claims automatically validated in the online admission screening exercise. The university has accredited various courses for the 2026/2027 academic session, and candidates can only apply for these courses if they possess the relevant requirements for admission.
The method of application involves visiting the university's website, clicking on 'Student' and then 'New Applicants,' and following the prompts to complete the online payment registration procedure. Candidates will be required to supply their UTME registration number, surname, and other personal details, as well as select their mode of entry and supply their transaction ID.
After successful payment, candidates will be redirected to the screening homepage, where they can download their screening report. The screening of candidates will be based on a point grading system, using the UTME score and SSCE grades in five best relevant subjects to the candidate's choice of course.
Candidates are advised to visit the JAMB website to study the O' Level subject requirements for their course of choice before participating in the online admission screening. The online screening exercise will last for 21 days, from June 3rd, 2026, to June 23rd, 2026. All online screening complaints should be sent to screeningsupport@lasu.edu.ng.
