The Students' Union Government has issued a warning to all students regarding recent security incidents involving commercial motorcycle riders around the school environment.
Recent reports have highlighted cases where students heading towards Camp have been diverted from their intended route by bike riders claiming to avoid police checkpoints. These riders have been known to take students to isolated areas around the Ogun-Oshun axis, putting them at risk of robbery or assault.
In light of these incidents, the SUG is advising all students to exercise caution when using commercial motorcycles. If a rider attempts to change direction or divert from your destination without your consent, insist on being dropped off immediately in a safe and populated area.
To minimize risks, students are encouraged to avoid boarding bikes in isolated locations, especially at night. It is also recommended that students share their trip details with a trusted friend or roommate whenever possible.
If you witness any suspicious activity or experience a security-related incident, report it immediately to the Students' Union Government or the relevant security authorities.
The safety of all students remains a top priority. Stay alert, stay safe, and look out for one another.
