The West African Examinations Council has made public the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.

According to Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of the Nigeria National Office, a total of 1,834,695 candidates, representing 94.05% of the 1,950,726 who took the exam in Nigeria, have had their results fully processed and released. Additionally, 116,031 candidates, or 5.95%, are still waiting for one or more of their subjects to be processed, but they can expect the outstanding results to be released soon.

In terms of performance, 1,687,378 candidates, or 86.50%, achieved credit passes in at least five subjects, including those with and without English Language and Mathematics. Furthermore, 1,200,514 candidates, or 61.54%, earned credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The results were released a few days after WAEC postponed the publication due to operational reasons.
