• The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a standardized computer-based test (CBT) administered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
• The exam is conducted annually, and it's a requirement for gaining admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
• Candidates who participated in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and those who took the exam in previous years can now check their results.
• To check your UTME result, there are two methods available - online and offline:
  • For online result checking, candidates need to visit the JAMB result-checking portal and follow the instructions to view their results.
  • To check results via SMS, candidates are required to send a message containing the word "RESULT" to the code provided by JAMB, using the phone number they used for UTME registration.

Ways to Check JAMB Result

There are two available methods for checking your JAMB result. The first is through the JAMB portal, where you can check your result online. The second method involves sending a text message with specific shortcodes to JAMB, and you will receive your result via SMS.

To use the online method, you’ll need a device that can connect to the internet. However, note that there is a price attached to using this option. In contrast, candidates who lack internet access or reside in areas with poor network quality may find the SMS method more convenient. However, note that network operators may charge a fee to use the SMS method.

Steps to Check JAMB Result Online

All the candidates who participated in the 2022 UTME and years before can now print their original results slip affixed with their passport photograph. You will need to pay N1,500 to access your JAMB result slip.

STEP 2: Locate and click on the Print Result Slip tab under the list of services.

STEP 3: Select your payment option and continue with the payment.

STEP 4: After a successful payment, you can check/print your result slip by selecting your exam year and entering your JAMB Registration Number in the required columns.

ALTERNATIVELY (this option seems not to be working currently)

• Go to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) result-checking website at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/CheckUTMEResults
• In the required column, enter your Registration Number/Phone Number.
• Finally, press the ‘Check My Results’ button to view your UTME results notification.

The portal will return your JAMB Notification of Result if your result is ready. You can then proceed with the printing of the result.

How to Check 2022 JAMB Result Offline (via SMS)

All candidates can now send UTMERESULT (no spaces) via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used to register (you must have a credit balance of at least N50 on your line). The outcome will be sent to you as an SMS shortly after.
The following are the responses to be expected:

• If a candidate uses a phone number that was not used during the registration process, he or she will receive the following notice in response: “This phone number was not used for registration.“
• A candidate with a result will receive the following message: “Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows... (and further information will be provided).
• If a result is withheld, the candidate will receive a “Result Withheld” text.
• Let’s say a candidate falls under the umbrella of those who are given the benefit of the doubt. The person will then receive the notification, “Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/document required from you,“
• If a candidate were absent, the reply would be “CANDIDATE ABSENT” A candidate that was ABSENT WITH REGISTRATION NUMBER also CANCELLED will be so informed.
• A candidate who gains unauthorised entrance to the examination venue will receive the message “Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall.”
