Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has been granted approval to begin operations. This follows an application and a subsequent Approval/Resources Inspection visit. The approval, which comes from the Honourable Minister of Education, includes a specific effective date for the go-ahead.
The approval takes effect from 6 February 2026, as stated in the notice, under the provision of Act CAP E3 LPN 2004. The Board also granted Interim Accreditation for the academic programmes, including Institutional Administration and ND Nursing Sciences, with a specified number of streams for the take-off.
The College is expected to comply with all applicable government regulations and policies for private polytechnics and similar institutions. Admission for students into the approved programme is set to commence with the 2025/2026 session. However, the approval to start the programme will lapse if admission does not occur within the stated period. In such a case, admission can only happen after a fresh Resources Inspection visit.
The approved programme will be due for Initial Accreditation when the first set of students reach the third or fourth semester of study, as outlined in the approval notice.
