Following the protest and the Emergency Congress, the Students' Union leadership met with the Vice-Chancellor to present their demands. The meeting, which also included the Council of Faculty Presidents, Council of Hall Chairpersons, the Speaker of the SRC, and Congress representatives, resulted in Management committing to three core resolutions.
1. Immediate Electricity Improvement: Necessary measures are being implemented to improve electricity supply on campus, effective immediately. 2. Reopening of University Health Service (UHS): The University Health Centre is to be reopened immediately to provide essential medical services to students. 3. Approval of Cooking Gas: Preparations for the use of cooking gas in halls of residence are being finalized, with a memorandum of approval to be released by Management after two weeks.
In light of these commitments and the progress made toward restoring essential services, all students are advised to resume academic activities immediately. The Union leadership will continue negotiations with stakeholders to ensure the full restoration of normalcy and the permanent resolution of outstanding issues.
The Students' Union commends the courage shown during the protest and the unity displayed at the Congress, and will remain vigilant to ensure that Management honors every part of this agreement.
