The Federal University Wukari Students' Union Government has made a significant announcement regarding the disbursement of institutional fees under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme. As of July 30, 2026, the disbursement process has commenced for students who successfully applied for the scheme.
Students whose institutional fees have been paid through NELFUND are advised to be patient as the payments are updated on the university's school portal. Once the payments reflect on the portal, students will be able to proceed with their course registration.
For students who paid their school fees before the NELFUND disbursement, the university's NELFUND Desk Officer is working on a seamless refund process. The Students' Union Government has assured that further details on the refund process will be communicated once the final arrangements are completed.
Students whose NELFUND application status still shows 'Verified by Institution' are urged not to panic. This status indicates that the university has completed the institutional verification process, and the disbursement of their institutional fees will follow in due course.
The Students' Union Government has reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all eligible students benefit from the Federal Government's student loan initiative without unnecessary delays.
