Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, has provided an update on the ongoing industrial action by its academic staff, reassuring students that the state government is working to resolve the issue.

The University Management made this known in response to a 72-hour ultimatum issued by the Student Union Executives, urging the State Government to resolve the strike action.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol, and Public Relations, Mr Sola Imoru, the University Management confirmed that the state government is addressing the strike through an intervention fund that is being processed for release.

The statement noted that the ultimatum was unnecessary, given that the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has already approved a special intervention fund to enable the University to meet its financial obligations.

The University Management appealed to all students to remain calm and exercise patience while the payment processes initiated by the Visitor to the University are being concluded.

It also encouraged the Students' Union leadership to always seek clarification on matters affecting the University before making public pronouncements.

The Management reiterated its commitment to constructive engagements and believes that dialogue is the most effective approach to resolving issues of mutual concern.
