The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has pushed back the cut‑off date for applicants who received admission offers covering the period from 2021 up to the present, giving them until Wednesday, 30 September 2026 to either confirm or decline those offers.
Initially, the Board had set Monday, 31 August 2026 as the final day for anyone with an offer dating from 2021 onward to communicate their decision. This new extension therefore represents the last chance for all impacted candidates to act before the revised deadline lapses.
Candidates who still have pending admission offers—whether regular or through the CUIIA programme—and who have not yet indicated acceptance or rejection are strongly urged to make their choice before 30 September 2026.
Applicants should avoid waiting until the very last moment; failing to act within the prescribed window will affect the standing of their admission status.
Those who choose to accept their offers will be eligible to print and collect their official admission letters.
Applicants who decide to decline will see their online dashboards switched to “Not Admitted,” allowing the Board to update its records and ensure that admission data accurately reflects each candidate’s current situation.
If a candidate is no longer enrolled at the institution for which the original admission was granted, or if they are now pursuing a different programme than the one originally offered, they may still accept the outstanding offer and later request the appropriate correction or removal of that admission entry. This process enables the Board to correctly adjust the candidate’s admission status.
Likewise, students who are undertaking a second degree but still hold an unaccepted prior admission offer may simply reject that offer and continue with their present programme.
The Board also wants to reassure candidates who have secured admission in the 2026 admission cycle yet still have an earlier offer pending. These individuals may decline the earlier offer without any negative impact on their 2026 admission.
This extension is intended to give every affected applicant one final opportunity to clearly state whether they wish to accept or reject any outstanding admission offers, thereby helping the Board maintain accurate, up‑to‑date national admission records.
The Board stresses that no further extensions will be granted after the deadline on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Once that date passes, any admission offers from 2021 onward that remain neither accepted nor rejected will automatically revert to a “Not Admitted” status and will stay that way in the Board’s database.
All candidates are therefore strongly encouraged to act promptly and not delay until the deadline.
Applicants should be aware that failing to accept an admission offer within the allotted period will render the offer void.
