Prince Abubakar Audu University’s administration in Anyigba has revealed that its 27th Inaugural Lecture will be the ninth such event conducted during Vice‑Chancellor Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman’s tenure, which began on 11 February 2026.

The event is slated for Tuesday, 8 September 2026, commencing sharply at 10:00 a.m. in the university’s main auditorium.

Professor Oja Paul Egwemi, who holds the chair in Dramatic Literature and Film Studies, will present the inaugural lecture, focusing on the theme:

“THE GOWNS WE WEAR, THE TOWNS WE GO: RETHINKING PERFORMANCE CURRICULA FOR DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA AMID A POLYCRISIS.”

Vice‑Chancellor Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman warmly invites both the university community and the wider public to join this significant scholarly gathering, which aims to deepen intellectual discussion and provoke thoughtful analysis of how performance curricula can contribute to Nigeria’s development amid a range of current crises.
