JAMB: Deadline Extension For Previous Years' Admissions…

Sep, 01Views: 21

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the cut‑off for applicants who received admission offers spanning 2021 up to the present has been pushed to Wednesday, 30 September 2026, for both acceptance and rejection.

Earlier, the Board set Monday, 31 August 2026 as the final date for those same candidates to confirm or decline their offers. This new extension now serves as the last chance for everyone concerned to act before the revised deadline passes.

Applicants who still have outstanding admission offers—whether regular or through the CUIIA scheme—are urged to make their decision by 30 September 2026.

Prospective students should avoid waiting until the last day, because missing the window will affect the standing of their admission.

Those who confirm their offers will be permitted to print and collect their official admission letters.

Applicants who decline will see their online dashboard change to “Not Admitted”, allowing JAMB to adjust its records and keep the admission data current.

If a candidate is no longer enrolled at the institution that originally extended the offer, or is now studying a different programme, they may still accept the pending admission and later request the appropriate correction or removal of that entry. This process helps JAMB keep the candidate’s admission status accurate.

Likewise, students working on a second degree who still have an unused earlier offer can simply reject it and remain in their current programme.

JAMB also wants to reassure applicants who have secured a place in the 2026 admission cycle but still hold an older pending offer; they may decline the older offer without any negative impact on their 2026 admission.

This extension is intended to give every affected applicant a final chance to clearly state acceptance or rejection of any outstanding offers, thereby helping JAMB preserve up‑to‑date and reliable national admission records.

JAMB stresses that no additional chances will be offered after the extended deadline on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Once that date passes, any admission offers dating from 2021 onward that remain undecided will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” and stay that way in the Board’s database.

All impacted applicants are therefore strongly encouraged to act promptly rather than wait for the cut‑off.

Applicants should be aware that not confirming an offer within the allotted time will cause the offer to become void.
